Bleeding is always a frightening symptom, especially during pregnancy – and particuarly in an area so close to your birth canal. But unlike vaginal bleeding, rectal bleeding is not a sign of a possible threat to your pregnancy. During the pregnancy, it is often caused by outside, or often, internal hemorrhoids and / or anal fissures (cracks in the anus). Hemorrhoids which are varicose veins of the rectum, afflict between 20 percent and 50 of all women in pregnancy. Just as the leg veins are more sensitive varicosities at the moment, as are the veins of the rectum. Hemorrhoids (also called piles because of the resemblance of these swollen veins are sometimes a bunch of grapes or marbles) can cause of itching and pain and bleeding. Anal fissures are also common during pregnancy. Hemorrhoids may accompany or appear independely are usually extremely painful. Constipation often causes or compounds both problems. Rectal bleeding do not try self-diagnosis, it should always be evaluated by a doctor. But if it does prove that you have hemorrhoids and / or cracks, you'll have an important role in their treatment. Good self-care can often eliminate the need for more invasive medical therapy. Avoid constipation: This is not a necessary part of pregnancy. Prevent constipation frmo the start is often an excellent way to prevent hemorrhoids and cracks completely. Take the pressure on: Sleeping on your side, not your back, avoid long periods of standing or sitting, if not a burden to the saddle or linger on the toilet (to keep Rading maternial of the bathroom to avoid being tempted to sit down and read). Sitting with feet on a step stool can facilitate the evacuation. Lie down several times a day – if possible, on your left – take the pressure on the veins of the rectum during some time. Watch TV, read, and no documents in this position, if possible, when you can. Do Kegel exercises regularly – these simple exercises improve circulation in the region. Soothe the area: To reduce discomfort, take hot sitz baths twice a day. You can also apply witch hazel pads or ice on the site. Try both approaches and hot hold and use whatever you find more soothing, or alternate. Do not use drugs without medical advice: Use of topical medications, suppositories, laxatives or stool softeners, unless they prescribed by a doctor who knows you are pregnant. Do not take mineral oil that can carry important nutrients to your body. Keep carefully clean: Wash area pernieal (vagina to the rectum) with hot water after bowel movements, always wipe from front backwards. Use only white toilet paper (two soft folds is more soothing), and avoiding aggressive wiping. With good care, you can keep hemorrhoids from becoming chronic. They can be aggravated by the delivery, especially if the pushing phase is long, but usually disappear after delivery if preventive measures and continued "I hope I can be of some use to you, I'll include link to a forum pregnancy I think you might find handy.
