Hemorrhoids are dilated blood vessels in the rectum.You get them several ways. Very heavy lifting and straining,troubled with constipation,and straining to pass a BM. Women develop them during a pregnancy from the pressure,and weight of the unborn baby,on the rectum.From other diseases like cirrhosis of the liver.They are not contagious,nor can they ” spread”.They can become more severe when the vein will form a “clot” that’s called a “thrombosed” hemorrhoid ,extremely painful and may require surgery.
