Hemorrhoids With Pregnancy
25 weeks, hemorrhoids, yucky subject — I’m sorry?
So I’m 25 weeks with baby #1 and last week, an unwelcome visitor popped up (or should I say out). I know hemorrhoids are a part of pregnancy but I’m really sick of it and wondering what experiences other moms have had. I’m using Preparation H and Tucks pads and, while it’s gone down in size, it’s still there. How long can I expect to have this hang around? Or should I just brace myself that it’s here until after I deliver?
What has your experience been with hemorrhoids during (and after) pregnancy. What has helped? Any tricks to getting rid of them? I once heard you can push them back inside the body…anyone ever tried this (I’d be scared to). I’d appreciate any helpful advice and sorry, again, for the unpleasant subject matter…!
Not much really helps. Thankfully mine are internal only so not sure about pushing them back in. Try not to sit so much, it’s all that pressure that causes them in the first place. I use generic (from Walgreen’s) Prep-H wipes. They cost a lot less. You can also try the cream.
I also found that a bath really helps. Not too hot because you could pass out while getting out from the temp change. Just warm and about 30 minutes will do. Also don’t push too hard when you go to the bathroom (TMI)….that can make them worse. Drink lots of water and eat fiber to prevent constipation. Good Luck!
