Does a urologist handle proctology also?

The reason I ask is because there are no proctologist specialists covered by my insurance in my area, but I know urologists handle the whole digestive tract. I need to have a prostate exam and also want to be checked for hemorrhoids. I think a urologist will handle all of that.
This is a serious questions so those of you under 18 and can’t answer this seriously, take a walk.

No, most urologists will generally not perform the duties of a proctologist; However, hemorrhoids are very easily checked during a prostate exam. In fact, it’s pretty difficult not to notice when performing that particular test. Even though a urologist can check for them, I doubt he’d be willing to do anything about it if he found them. The good news is that you don’t need a proctologist to handle that anyway… any general surgeon should be more than capable of handling a hemorrhoid surgery.
