Hemorrhoids Stool Softener
Natural stool softeners for an almost 3 year old?!?
My son will be 3 in December and has been potty trained since March. He goes #2 on his own and for a couple days now he seems to struggle going and has popped a little hemorrhoid and this morning had a little tint of blood. He doesn’t act like it bothers him and it doesn’t seem painful when i wipe him. Doc says to try a stool softener. he won’t drink prune juice. Any ideas or suggestions to help him out? Thanks
Okay, here are a few ideas that have worked for us followed by things to avoid (which you probably all ready know about):
Kiwi fruit (if he’s not allergic to them )–a few slices every day, up to half/day, probably for his age
Raisins
Melons (can help, but don’t over do or he could get diaherrra/burned bottom)
More Water (Yeah, I know, probably not his favorite) 
Use wheat bread, if possible
Over the Counter–Miralax added to chocolate milk or juice, but check with your doctor about his. I’ve used it for kids this young, but just double check with this. I realize that this isn’t a “natural” one, but it does help.
Foods to Avoid (but can be eaten after he’s gotten more regular, just keep the amounts low):
Bananas
Milk in large quantities
apples
white bread
