Hemorrhoids Procedures
Question about Episiotomy?
I’m 29 wks preggas and my question is if you have hemorrhoids and you need to have an episiotomy during labour, can this cause any problems, or would they remove hemorrhoids during procedure?? I am more worried about this than actually giving birth at this point…
I had a huge problem w/ hemorrhoids after pregnancy the 2nd time…so w/ the 3rd, when I was just about 5 months, I went to the proctologist and he actually banded mine. It was a quick, painless procedure. The bands are tight around the ‘roids and cut off blood supply. In a couple of days, they literally fall off. As far as an episiotomy goes, I don’t think it will interfere with them…but you should let your doc in on your concerns. I am sure they will ease your concerns…I had an episiotomy 2 out of my 4 births and just want to tell ya that the pain from the ‘roids (which occur from pushing during delivery) afterwards far outweighed the pain of the episiotomy. So, if you can get them taken care of, go for it. If your doc says no, get another opinion or 2. I think you need to do whatever it is to make you comfy! Good luck!!!
