Hemorrhoids Misdiagnosis
What’s the chance of a misdiagnosis of hemorrhoids?
i went to my doctor yesterday because i found a lump on my anus, she said it was a hemorrhoid, or rather, ‘it look’s like you’ve got a small pile’ which didn’t exactly fill me with confidence.
i got some cream which i picked up today, but, because i’m only 18, it doesn’t bleed and it doesn’t really hurt, would she just fob me off when it could be something more serious? cancer’s what’s bugging me. would the hemorrhoid cream still bring it down if it was a tumor?
and i don’t have an appetite, but that’s only since i found it, could it be the fear?

also, is there a chance there could be a tumour further up my colon, and this one has travelled down? i’m sorry, i can’t stop worrying.
Follow the doctor’s instructions and see what happens. If it is not better in a week or so, go back again, or see another doctor. At 18 it is unlikely that it is anything other than a hemorrhoid but don’t ignore it.
