Hemorrhoids How Long Last

Hemorrhoids after childbirth?
Okay gross I know sorry in advance, I had my son 13 days ago during which I had an episiotomy, since then I’ve developed hemorrhoids and I’m wondering if this is normal, Ive never had one before and never got any during the pregnancy. Did anyone else experience this and if so what did you do to get rid of them and how long did they last??
Welcome to the “Hemorrhoids after Childbirth Club”.
I don’t mean to be funny, but, quite a large majority of women develop this condition after childbirth.
And, unfortunatley, I have had mine ever since and my ‘children’s ages are 48 and 49 years.,
So that tells you how long it has been.
A lot of time, surgery is the only way to get rid of them. – altho, you can use different medications (ointments/creams) to ease the discomfort they sometimes cause.
Constipation can aggravate them, so eat fiber and maintain good bowel habits.
Sometimes, they can cause bleeding, and lots of pain and discomfort -
It the problems gets too severe, doctors will probalby reccommend surgery.
I have just dealt with them and used medications as needed.
It depends on the severity.
A lot of my friends have also had problems after childbirth.
You may be one of the lucky ones, where they will heal and not be bothered by them too much, but this usually is not the case.
I wish you well.
A 1% hydrocortisone ointment or cream (no prescription needed) can help the pain, itching and burning you may experience.
