Hemorrhoids For Over A Year
What kind of doctor do I need?
Do i need a specialist or can I go to a general doctor to have my rectum checked? Little over a year ago I’ve had rectal bleeding but it has gone away. I think I have a hemorrhoid now. I’ve ignored it too much and now looking for a doctor. I’m 21 so I should be alright, right?
I’ve never really been checked by any doctor in my life so this is a new thing for me. Part of the reason I don’t see doctors is because I don’t have health insurance.
You can actually see your regular doctor, but it is a proctologist who specializes in this area of the body. A gastrointestinal doctor can also handle this problem. I’m glad you are getting yourself checked out, and I hope it’s nothing more than hemorrhoids. The doc may suggest you go on a stool softener so as to lessen the chance of you straining when pooping and making hemorrhoids worse.
