Antibiotics can cause digestive problems that result from burning vaginal and anal?
A year ago I was sick with mono and was treated with antibiotics. Since then, I had vaginal burning and chronic anal. I thought it was a yeast / problem of hemorrhoids, respectively, but gynos and other docs say thats not. Also, I am super sensitive to everything I eat! spicy food coffee chocolate, garlic, lemon, tons of stuff, it's crazy! I have an appt. with an allergist and a gastroenterologist next week but we want to go in ideas first. I tried everything else!
They can cause many different problems. You have bacteria throughout your body, including your gut and vagina that help maintain a healthy balance. When taking antibiotics, they usually kill a good amount of these good bacteria and bad. Once you stop, if they should return to normal. I've never heard of a persistent problem One year after the antibiotics though. Good luck.
